I love a bit of good old Steampunk, I love that it is out there, crazy, creative, and has a unique style.
I love the clever mechanical designs, and the crazy and rather flattering and gorgeous gowns. If I wasn’t such a coward, I could really love wearing the gorgeous dresses and corsets which are part of the look – but I must admit, the models on this shoot told me that moving in the corsets was challenging, and driving the car would not be something you would want to do!
Mind you, it didn’t take hubby Steve from the 1910 Ironworks to long to get into the flow – he had a pair of steampunk goggles on before you could say Steampunk!
So when I had the opportunity to work with the amazing fine art photographer Nigel from Nigel Unsworth Studios, and the fabulous sister team from corsetry and steampunk fashion house Gallery Serpentine along with 3 crazy out there models – I jumped at the opportunity, and Ameina my wonderful team member jumped in next to me – as she loves nothing more than doing out there hair styling!
I loved the fact that although I am known for my clean looking natural makeup, I really enjoyed the opportunity to create a darker smokier eye makeup look than I normally do!
Everything was shot at The 1910 Ironworks – in the blacksmith shop and garden, in the Southern Highlands. It was a crazy busy day, worth it – we managed to get some seriously amazing photos!
Just a few of the wonderful shots!
